Just a quick update, but there is Dreamlands news too exciting not to share: Kij Johnson’s amazing Dreamlands novel “The Dream-Quest of Vellitt Boe” has been optioned as a movie!
Details are available at the Magnesium Films website. No cast or crew are announced, and it’s possibly too soon to say if this project will take off, or never get made like so many fascinating could-have-been films. If it happens, though (and beats Huan Vu’s years-in-the-making Dreamlands film to screens), it’ll surely be the biggest Dreamlands event in ages, while simultaneously subverting and criticizing Lovecraft, like the hit book & TV series “Lovecraft Country.”
